Happy Weekend Everyone! I wanted to share with you the fun little adventure I had this past week. The initial plan was to go to Arizona for warmer weather, but instead we chose to go to Leavonworth, the coldest place around... But that's ok; aside from a couple things not working in the Condo, like the hot water being turned off, the heat not working and the hot tub shutting down at one point, it was a great mini vacation! I was so happy to have some company for the trip; most of the time I just go places alone; I fly places alone, or I reserve a hotel alone and ask someone to join me after I've already planned things. It's ok, I'm comfortable being alone and most of the time it doesn't really bother me; but I've been spending my trips with more people lately and realize that it is actually more fun with a group. I was so happy that my brother and sister-in-law came along, and an amazing guy who makes the best steaks! My brother and sister-in-law are so much fun and really chill. If I was going to emulate a relationship it would be theirs. They support each other, but aren't super clingy. They each have their own individual hobbies and ones they share. They go on many adventures together but don't feel obligated to be anything other than themselves. They enjoy the simple things in life and don't try to live up to the worlds idea of what they should be. They don't care what other people think, but focus instead on their own little world and what makes them happy together.
We went wine tasting that first night and sampled some hot mulled wine while we walked around the town. The Christmas lights are still out and added a magical quality to the town. We spent the next couple days checking out the different shops and doing things that some might consider "old person things" like visiting the Nutcracker Museum. I was surprised to learn that its the largest Nutcracker Museum in the world, with more than 7,000 different Nutcrackers and a cute 96 year old lady--who had travelled all over the world with her husband collecting the different styles and types of nut-cracking items--was still working at the shop she had created. After the museum, we grabbed a cup of mulled wine and walked the snowy path down to the river and around the park, which was all covered in snow. The sun was out the entire time we were on our trip and that made it all the more beautiful! It was so nice to get away for a time with the best people, drink wine, eat chocolate and soak in the hot tub <3
I'm so blessed to have so many kind and amazing people in my life.
