This week has been busy and full of many small and big wins! First I want to say that I am very blessed in my life. I have an amazing group of people around me, who support, nourish and care for me; some days I can't even believe how lucky I am. My family and friends have been there for me throughout my struggles and successes; they have given me more than I could ever repay, and for that I am truly thankful 💗 This is one of the reasons I keep moving forward and keep pushing through. Many people have told me that I’m a determined person, that I always finish what I start; but it’s only because of the amazing people in my life who have given me a reason to believe and trust in myself. It’s no secret that I’m not the best at anything; in fact, I’m pretty average at most things I do in life… but a lot of success is based on mindset rather than skill. This past couple years I’ve tried and worked more than ever on improving myself and breaking down walls and fears that had set root in my mind. What started out as a distraction, a way to cope with heartache and hardship, ended up turning into a meaningful purpose. I’m blown away with how many doors have opened up to me, how I’ve made a decision to be positive and let the fear fall at my feet; telling myself that fear’s not an option anymore. Even if some of those fears come to be, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. There’s always a way out, and with the backbone of support I’ve received I really have no reason to fear anymore. I've also learned that a great way to find some peace in the midst of the chaos is to get a massage 😉 A few examples of the wins I’ve received this week is having my first scheduled client at my home spa and making some really great connections with her. I also had a practical interview at the Ballaura Spa downtown and was offered a job! I was able to connect and have meaningful conversations with friends this week that left me feeling appreciated and cared for. I was feeling pretty blue about the weather… but was able to get out and run a bit and joined my old run group for their 3rd run of the season. I made some really great connections before and after the run, visiting with a friend who, come to find out, actually coached cross country in Elma while I was running there! Small world…. While I was relaxing after the run, drinking a margarita and visiting, I found out that I was offered a job at Ballaura! I was all-smiles, beaming from ear-to-ear and my friend offered to buy me a celebratory drink 🤗 I’m excited for this new phase in my life and to be able to connect with people on a level I never thought possible until now, and I'm optimistic for what the future has in store for me. I have to say that the Ballaura Spa checks all my boxes for the type of place I was hoping to work after I graduated from Bodymechanics. The owner Nicole is very friendly, supportive, flexible with my schedule and focused 100% on wellness 🙏 I’m very excited about starting my massage career there and am happy to find out that two of my classmates will be working there as well. So all-in-all it’s been a great week!
One of the things I’ve learned this week as well, is to not be afraid of things or intimidated by people, but rather learn from people and the experiences I go through, and instead of being afraid or nervous about new experiences, be grateful for the opportunity to have those experiences in the first place ❣

I can personally vouch for your perseverance! I remember when you ran in cross country and had blisters covering both bottoms of your feet, yet you finished the race. You’re amazing, Melissa! A lot of things in life are accomplished by just showing up, working hard and finishing. Keep on keeping on!! Love you 🥰
