What has this year taught you, what are you most grateful for and what are you looking forward to this coming year?

Good Morning, everyone and happy New Years Eve Eve… I woke up in a melancholy mood this morning… A friend asked me yesterday why I never got married and had kids, and I grew sad thinking about it. Sometimes I think about everything I’m missing out on by not having that kind of life; the beautiful moments I’ll never get to experience, and I wonder if I do it out of fear, or because my authentic self doesn’t need all those things to have a fulfilling and deeply satisfying life. All my life I’ve observed other people living: getting married, having children, buying a house and having this picture-perfect life. I used to want that life above all else… but now I’m not so sure. I didn’t really know how to respond to my friend… what answer to glean from such a loaded question.

But after thinking about it I realized that I’ve never really done things in a typical "normal" fashion, the way society deems that things should be done. I’ve always moved to the beat of my own drum. I’ve gone through life observing everything on my own, learning and growing through many trials and errors, and ups and downs, waiting for a sign that it is right and good for me... and when something is right, I feel it in my body and soul.

Looking back on this past year, I could look at the glass half empty and say that nothings really changed, but that would be far from the truth.

This past year I’ve grown SO much, mostly on the inside; I have confidence in my true authentic self and believe, for the first time, that I have something to offer the world. I have so many things to be thankful for this year ✨

After many years of working dead-end jobs and struggling to feel worthy, I have found my gift in massage therapy, and I absolutely love it! I couldn’t ask for a more satisfying and fulfilling career where I get to connect with so many amazing people every day and make their lives better in the process. Along with this beautiful career, I also have so many old and new friends who give me support and love even when I don’t always deserve it.

I’m also getting back into writing, a hobby that I used to love so much!

I’ve learned through life to enjoy everything I do, whether I’m at work, spending time with family and friends, or getting my sweat on! I want to enjoy every moment of my life, the good and the not-so-good. Life is a process where we are constantly changing, learning and growing, and we sometimes spend our entire lives just learning about who we truly are. So, give yourself some grace as you move through this life, take in every moment as it comes and fully embrace it, and live a life of gratitude. One of my goals for the new year is to challenge my body in different ways. I love doing yoga and running, but sometimes I feel weaker when I only do these two types of exercises… so this year I want to try to build muscle and become stronger through different forms of exercise that will challenge my body. What goals have you set for yourself in the coming year?

I have listed some things below that will help you through the New Year. Enjoy!

1. Don’t wait to do what your soul craves. Each one of us has a specific blueprint that guides us through life and helps us blossom and grow. Instead of spending your life following others, and becoming a part of a trend, learn what makes your soul sing! Each of us is unique, so we come into our power when we follow our own unique path.

“Don’t waste precious time pretending to like things just because other people do.”

2. Don’t wait to do the things you love. Instead of waiting all day till 5pm, all week for Friday and all year for the next holiday, take action and do things now. There will never be a perfect time; a time where work runs out, bills stop coming and people stop needing you… you need to set time aside for yourself now, not someday…

“The world does not owe you a living; you owe the world a life.”

3. Be confident in who you are and trust the process. We don’t’ arrive on this earth being fully complete humans, in fact, most of our successes and breakthroughs come about through trial and error, by observing others, or by simply struggling through it until we reach that summit. Every step is necessary, every day serves a purpose.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up; a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

4. Live a life of Gratitude. Don’t wait to appreciate what you have in life. We often take for granted the very aspects of our lives that most deserve our presence and gratitude. “Everything handed to you is either a blessing or a lesson; both are valuable.

I hope this was meaningful ❤️❤️❤️

Have a blessed New Year filled with love, laughter and many breakthroughs!
