Twelve Days of Christmas Meditation Day Ten: Morning Empowerment Meditation ~

Every morning brings promise and the potential of starting fresh and anew. It is a great way to set an intention to feel how you choose to feel, rather than how someone else tells you to feel. We all have days where it takes extra effort to get up and going; but setting an intention for each day is important for accomplishing goals, achieving happiness, tranquility and peace-of-mind, while reaching our full potential.

STEP ONE: To create an affirmation, choose statements that resonate for you; it should be something that is personal to you, something you want to happen, rather than something forced. This is the best way to bring about positive change. Present-tense affirmations are easier for the mind to see as attainable and are beneficial in realizing the blessings you already possess. It reflects a state of abundance, rather than lack. When we see ourselves as lacking, we see ourselves as a victim, and with this mindset its harder to open our minds to achieve our affirmations.

Use statements like, "I have," or "I am," rather than "I want," or "I will."

STEP TWO: As you speak your affirmation each morning, feel the meaning and visualize how it can change your mindset. Consider how you'll adapt that affirmative phrase to the things you're going to do today. Repeat your affirmation throughout the day; the more you remind yourself of it, the more your subconscious mind will seek out opportunities to boost that affirmation for you. Affirmations can be done anywhere, anytime, with no prep involved. You may want to light a candle to focus and set the tone of the affirmation.

*Examples of Affirmations:

1. Gratitude: "I am grateful," "I am Blessed." Be sure to include what you're thankful for, whether it's a person, a situation, or just being alive.

2. Love: "I choose to give and receive love," or "I have an open heart," or "I am compassionate and patient with others."

3. Self-acceptance: "I am enough," or "I am more than the opinions others hold of me," or "I am worthy of joy and happiness."

4. Forgiveness: "I am willing to change my point of view," or "I attempt to see the good in others," or "I am learning to forgive others and myself for the past."

STEP THREE: While speaking your morning affirmation, sip on this refreshing cocktail!
