Good morning everyone! I will be doing a Twelve Days of Christmas Meditation countdown coming soon, which will include a drink pairing to match the mood of the day. Today I wanted to write about a special Spa event coming up this weekend at my work, and include a spell to go along with it :) The Spa event will take place this Saturday where we will be making sugar and salt scrubs, the guests will receive hand and foot massages and we will have some light refreshments as we share stories and talk about how a career in Massage Therapy can change your life.
When using a salt or sugar scrub, it helps to produce collagen in the skin, while removing dead skin. You can look at it as a way of removing toxic things from your life and replacing it with good things.
Sugar/Salt Scrub Materials: Glass bowl I cup granulated sugar or Course Salt 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted and liquified 10 drops lemon essential oil 5 drops lavender essential oil Small jar with lid
Place sugar in bowl and pour coconut oil over it. You can melt oil by microwaving it for about 20 seconds or lightly heat it on stove. Then mix sugar and oil together. Add essential oils and blend thoroughly. Scoop sugar scrub into jar and secure with lid. Sugar scrub will keep for about three weeks. Use your scrub by wetting your skin, and scooping a small amount of scrub onto skin, massaging it in small circular motions. As you scrub, visualize illness and pain being drawn away from your body and focusing on good intentions and good things taking their place.
The drink I chose to pair with this Meditation is called The Cooler Purple, which is inspired by the Novel The Color Purple by Alice Walker. 1/2 ounce Blackberry Liquor 1/2 ounce Peach Schnapps 1/2 ounce Light Rum 1/2 ounce Lemon Juice Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Strain into shot glass and enjoy!
