Good Morning Everyone 🖤
I hope you all had a good week! I just have to say, I had a blast this past weekend at my Lymphatic Massage Training! It felt like a mini retreat because it was very involved, and having a full three days of immersion into the Lymphatic world was so great. I love massage classes because, not only do you learn a new skill, but you also connect with people on a deeper level. Massage hits you physically, mentally, emotionally... and Lymphatic Massage is no different.
In this blog I want to share with all.of you the benefits of Lymphatic Massage, as well as some ways you can prepare your body before receiving Lymphatic work and how your body feels afterwards.
So lets get into it!
The Lymphatic System is very important and often overlooked. In simple terms, the Lymphatic System is your Immune System: it manufactures white blood cells, distributes fluid and nutrients, while also absorbing fat cells and vitamins from the digestive system. When it Lymph flows correctly through your body it helps fight and protect against disease, infection, and illness. It also keeps fluid from accumulating in the body and gets rid of excess bloat and water weight.
One of the facts I was surprised by while taking my class was how many lymphnodes are in the body. The body contains anywhere from 600-800 lymphnodes and a third of them are located in the face 🙃
Some simple ways you can maintain a healthy Lymphatic system on a daily basis is through deep breathing, exercise, staying hydrated and dry brushing. These are all things I recommend to my clients after recieving a Lymphatic Massage and in-between massages. I recommend that clients recieve a Lymphatic Massage once a month for general wellness and to maintain a healthy Lymphatic System. One of the things I always include in my Lymphatic treatment is an abdominal massage. There are so many Lymphnodes in the abdominal area and it's so helpful to stimulate them in your core. Abdominal massage also helps aid a healthy digestion and gets rid of all that excess waste.
In a world that's bombarded with chemicals, toxic food and a sedentary lifestyle, Lymphatic Massage is so important to help remove the waste and toxins that are stagnant in the body and help create movement and flow.
In my class over the weekend I recieved three days of Lymphatic Treatment, so my body was going through a lot! One of the things I felt during the weekend was an increased flow in my body, I felt light and limber. I also felt less bloated in my tummy and overwhelmingly relaxed. I had zero anxiety and actually had energy and more motivation at the end of the day! One thing I will say is that three days is a lot and I found myself feeling almost too relaxed at certain times; but i'll also say that I felt the benefits many days after recieving the treatment. I had increased energy, like I was almost bouncing! I had better sleep and digestion. There are many different types of massage and each has its purpose, but I will also say that many people often disregard lighter massage, not seeing the benefits. Another important thing to note about Lymphatic Massage is how it brings a sense of peace and calm to the body. In a world that's not only bombarded with toxic food and chemicals, we are also overwhelmed with anxiety and stress. I highly recommend Lymphatic Massage, not only for the physical benefits, but also for those of us dealing with anxiety and stress. The peace of mind it brings to the body and mind is priceless ✨️
