Labor Day Weekend

I wanted to share a few cool things from this weekend. I was fortunate to go on an adventure to High Rock, one of the most beautiful places I've had the pleasure of visiting! I’ve been wanting to go back for a couple years and finally decided to make it happen. I have to say that I can’t get enough of the sun… I’m not ready for the summer to be over, but am grateful for each day that I have to spend with my amazing coworkers and friends, out in nature and of course time with my adorable kitty and piggy; who continue to keep me busy when I’m not at work! I’m trying to heal from past hurts that sometimes become daily hurts, but I’m grateful for the moments I have with people I love and care for 💗 My life became so much better when I stopped trying to compare and compete against others, but instead became a part of their story by sharing a word of kindness, a caring hand, and a thoughtful heart. Sunday night was bittersweet because I met up with a dear friend who I had to say goodbye to 😥 She’s beginning a new chapter in her life and I’m so happy for her and proud of her strength! We were an integral part in each others lives when we were both going through tough transformations, and I will continue to hold a special place in my heart for her and hopefully keep in touch as she moves to her new home! I believe friendships are priceless drops of pure gold that cannot be replaced or taken for granted 🙏 I spent Labor Day climbing High Rock and it was the perfect day for a hike! The sky was pure blue, the air was fresh with a soft breeze and the sun was shining a steady 71 degrees. I love the hike because its shorter than most(but still great exercise!) and with a view that is absolutely breathtaking! You can view Mt. Rainer, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood all from the lookout point and the ground going up is mostly rock, so its easy to climb without slipping. When I reached the top I was surprised by a chipmunk who poked his head over the edge of the cliff. He came out of nowhere and was super friendly and hungry! We took turns feeding him granola and nuts and he enjoyed every bit of it! I’m looking forward to spending next weekend in Port Townsend as a last "mini" vacation before summer ends! I’m so grateful for the amazing and supportive people in my life who love and care for me, even when I don’t always deserve it. You mean the world to me 🥰 How are you celebrating the end of Summer?
