Good morning everyone and happy Independence Day tomorrow!
With everything that's been happening in America lately, Independence Day may have taken on a different meaning for some people. With new laws being enforced, our safety constantly being threatened and neighbor turning against neighbor, its hard to know what we are celebrating this year.
Even though this year has blown up in our faces we can still keep our holiday traditions!
What traditions do you take part in during this time of year?
When I was growing up my family would always throw a 4th of July party that ended in a grand finale firework show! My brother would get hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks and we would invite friends and family over for a barbecue/firework show.
I was always a little hurt that my brothers never let me join them in lighting the fireworks, but I was able to partake in the pregame shenanigans that consisted of roman candles, sparklers and bottle rockets.
As the years passed, the crowd would become progressively smaller and the fireworks a little less extravagant, but we would still stay up till the early morning hours, drinking, laughing, and enjoying each others company.
What traditions do you hold for the 4th of July holiday?

I love Independence Day! We usually do a family get together as well. My family loves fireworks, so we enjoy the holiday late into the evening. Usually I can hear fireworks still going around 1:00am. I have to say, though, that this year I am more thankful than ever before to live in such a great Country! A great big thank you to all law enforcement and our brave military! Remembering today the sacrifice our founding fathers made, as well as the brave men and women who lost their lives to ensure freedom for the generations to come. Let us step up to do the same! God bless America - Land of the Free because of the Brave.
