Fiction: What Are You Looking For?

Hello everyone! I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing 💖 Along with Quarantine, the fog and smoke has set in, sequestering us even farther into our little holes. So what are you doing to entertain yourself while stuck inside? I took a break from work the other day and stayed home in bed. My body was telling me to rest and take some time for myself, or more importantly, get back into writing my next novel! There's something exhilarating about having a free day to stay in bed and write my heart out. There are no distractions when you're sick in bed. There's a lot of time to think and reflect and write! So, before I get too deep into this novel I thought I would ask everyone what they are looking for in a story. What's more important to you: characters, story line, a sense of place, relatability, surreal or bizarre elements, drama, suspense? I want to know what to focus on and how to make an impact!
