You Deserve to Be Known as Your Authentic Self 🦋

Updated: Nov 11

Good morning everyone and happy Veterans Day! If you have the day off, I hope you enjoy this time and can spend it with those you love 💗 I was reminded over the weekend, by a dear friend, that everything I am is a gift; the good, the bad and eveything in-between. That there are unique layers, like the rings in the bark of a tree, that make up the layers of my life, and everyone in my life has the privilege of knowing me, and I them.

Every moment in our lives leads us to this point and gives rise to the person we are today. Every day is a gift, even if we suffer, there is always another day, another opportunity, to make things right and beautiful: have reverence for your scars and battle wounds, those things that give you strength to face even greater battles!

I invite you to look inside yourself and ask: what gives you joy? What helps you through hardship? What is something that is unique about yourself?

All of the things outside of this inner self, the things we stress over and the things by which we need to survive, are external to who we actually are underneath it all. What is inside us, what makes up our soul and essence, should be celebrated and shared ✨️

Instead of focusing on external things, we should try to focus on what we can control: our innermost being. I wanted to write this morning about taking time to develop a true and transparent relationship with ourselves. I know that might sound unattainable in a society that puts such an emphasis on numbing our pain and avoiding our emotions; but there’s some truth to the saying, “you are enough.”   It doesn’t mean we let go and stop trying, but it can mean letting go of things that change our essence and take us farther away from who we are underneath it all: our innermost self.

It's all about embracing our uniqueness and stop trying to be someone we are not; because I can guarantee, we will fail every time we try to be anyone other than ourselves.

❤️There is only one YOU in this world, and it is your job in life to be that person, and no one else ❤️

Many people live their entire lives not really knowing who they are. We live in a constant state of worry and fear: fear of not being accepted, fear of being rejected, unloved or alone. Fear of the part of our life we have not yet lived. Fear of not measuring up to everyone around us. I can promise you; you will never be happy if you live your life competing and trying to measure up to your neighbor. Comparison is the killer of happiness.

Instead of comparing ourselves to everyone around us, whom, by-the-way, are also pretending to be someone they’re not… why not discover the immersive depths of the person you actually are.

❤️You are uniquely you ❤️

Many of us live our entire lives without really discovering the depth of what we are capable of, and the many layers that make up our innermost being; the courage, strength, resilience, determination, tenacity, emotional depth, and deep love we are capable of and are meant to live. Love yourself, love your life, love those around you and stop comparing yourself to others. Stop limiting yourself and your gift to the world, stop living in fear, and instead, embrace the beauty that is your essence... and your life! Peace be with you always 🕊️
