Do Worry and Fear Hold You Back?

Updated: Apr 3, 2021

A lot of people would say that I'm a worrier. Worry and fear go hand-in-hand and often stem from the desire to avoid making mistakes and avoid pain. I use worry as a way to rehearse different outcomes in my mind. Does it serve me? Sometimes... But when worry is taken to the level of fear, it can be debilitating. When we feed our worry and fear we are creating anxiety before we need to. Some people have a close relationship with worry and fear, to the point where they don't feel comfortable without it. It is their own best friend and constant companion. It keeps them Alert, Awake, and Aware to what's going on around them. But when we live in a constant state of worry and fear, we never have time to rest, recharge and take-in the information we need to make a rational decision that will serve us. Worry especially, has become the norm for people and society. If we're not worrying about something we can be termed 'lazy,' and 'lucky.' If we aren't juggling two jobs, a side hustle/business, raising kids or dating/having a social life than people often put us down for having a stress-free life. Being at ease and at peace in our life is now considered abnormal. In a lot of ways it seems that worry and fear are a way to distract us; they make us feel comfortable as we use worry and fear as an excuse for not being happy and not going for what we want in life. What worries you? What are you afraid of? Does worry and fear hold you back from having happiness, peace and abundance in your life? I will be the first to admit that I worry a lot. I worry about not making the right decision for my future. I'm afraid of taking a risk to make my life better because right now my life is Ok. But just being Ok only goes so far. There comes a time when we have to take a leap of faith to create more happiness and abundance in our life. If I take a risk my life could be better, but it could also be worse. Walking the line of mediocrity is a dangerous place to be in because it's a place of comfort, but not necessarily growth. It limits us and holds us back from creating the life we deserve. What is one thing you worry about and how would your life be different if you didn't have this worry in your life? Share you story!
