Do Aliens Exist?

There was a video released by the Pentagon recently that recorded an Unidentified Flying Object not previously seen in military or commercial aircraft. This video was released in 2007, 2017 and again in April of 2020. Not only is the aircraft unusually shaped, but it's also seen to be moving against the wind at a rapid pace, while rotating in the air. My question is... why did so much time pass between each release of the video and what do they want the American people to gain from this information? I listen to a lot of podcasts that delve into supernatural events like alien abductions, demon possession, haunted houses, and mind control... and even though I'm open to the idea of these things happening in real life, I'm a bit skeptical about the alien abductions. There seems to be a common thread of people using hallucinogenics during these so-called 'abductions,' and many of the records that involve alien abductions show that the victim was smoking pot and/or using hardcore drugs. Not only was their state of mind altered, but their story seems to change each time they tell it. This can tell us that either their memory becomes less lucid as time passes, or they are making the whole thing up. As the story keeps changing over time. the events become confused and muddled so investigators are less likely to get concrete evidence. Some of the questions that plague my mind are why a lot of people that believe in aliens don't believe in God and people that believe in God don't believe in aliens. Can God and aliens exist in the same Universe? I don't have the answers, but I do know that when I think of alien life I become uncomfortable with the idea. I'm not sure why this is exactly, but I think a lot of people have this same reaction. My first thought is, as humans, we are uncomfortable with unfamiliar people and surroundings. That's why we grow uncomfortable when we go to party where we don't know anybody, and if we do know somebody we instantly gravitate towards them. We love routine, familiarity and a sense of belonging; the existence of alien life goes against all these human comforts. My question to you is: Do you believe there is life beyond Earth? What instant reaction do you get when you hear people talk about aliens? Why do you think the government or the church would keep the existence of aliens from us? That's a great response by Pope Benedict! I think there's still so much we don't know about the world and we need to keep an open mind. God created the entire Universe, not just Earth. It doesn't mean we are any less special in God's eyes. Thanks for sharing :)

I think you hit the nail on the head: drugs and aliens. When I was in the hospital with horrible back pain and the doctor gave me a shot of morphine, I saw all kinds of visions! 😄

I think it was pope Benedict the XVI who when asked if he thought aliens existed responded “if they do, we’ll baptize them too”. The topic of aliens has always fascinated me, I don’t think a belief that alien life exists is necessarily contradictory to Christian belief or thought, but your right it is uncomfortable for whatever reason.
